PRESS: Russians still interested in Microsoft products download

MOSCOW, Nov 9 (PRIME) -- Peer Trace, a distributor of data on content download, has registered up to 185,000 facts of download of Microsoft system and office software via torrents in Russia every day, business daily Kommersant reported on Wednesday.

Peer Trace uncovered 174,000 facts of download and distribution on November 1 alone, up by 24,400 the same day in 2021.

The service said that the number of distributions and downloads of Windows and Microsoft Office by Russian users, excluding the fall during weekends, has been gradually rising since the end of the summer, peaking at 185,000 facts on October 24.

Microsoft halted sales of new products in the country in March because of the special operation in Ukraine, and the company said in June it wind down business in the country. The availability of its software on the Russian market has decreased.
